Profit With A Purpose

Believing that profit must have a purpose and that corporate citizenship should factor the triple bottom line – financial, social and environmental – Kjaer Group is a committed stakeholder to improving conditions for vulnerable people.

Our commitments and investments are particularly focused on:

Road safety

Left unchecked and road traffic accidents will become one of the world’s leading health burdens. This is particularly tragic in Africa where the road safety toll is estimated to increase by 80% by 2020. Between 80% and 90% of road related incidents are caused by “driver’s error.” The remaining causes stem from vehicles and road conditions. Yet few aid and development organizations have addressed their drivers in a systematic manner.

In order to address these challenges and instill a culture of road safety in aid and development organizations, Kjaer Group has partnered with the Fleet Forum and other stakeholders, to launch the Fleet Safety Project. This project has three main components, which consist of:

  • A Fleet Safety Toolkit containing training material and practical steps to enhance fleet safety.
  • A pilot project to prove and test the Fleet Safety Toolkit.
  • A communication strategy to disseminate the message of fleet safety.

With the Fleet Forum’s collective capacity and combined fleet of 70,000 vehicles, the immediate impact from adopting a culture of fleet safety will mark a significant improvement in the safety and effectiveness of humanitarian fleets. Combining this with the outreach that Kjaer Group brings by being present in 33 developing countries and 10 donor nations, will take road safety from awareness to implementation in a short time frame.

10

In order to put practical road safety tips in front of drivers in the aid and development sector, Kjaer Group in partnership with Fleet Forum and the Global Road Safety Partnership has developed the 10 Principles Campaign. The aim of the campaign is to cover as much of the aid and development fleet as possible with 10 simple driving rules that are often taken for granted. Sign up is free and Kjaer Group bears the cost of printing and distributing visor stickers for the proven number of vehicles in your fleet.  Sign up online: 10.kjaergroup.com
