Download the Fleet Safety Toolkit

Globally, more than 20 million people are injured or permanently disabled and over one million killed in road traffic crashes each year. Low income countries account for more than 85% of all fatalities and 96% of children killed in traffic crashes. If left unaddressed road traffic accidents will become one of the world’s leading health burdens. This is particularly tragic in Africa where the road safety toll is estimated to increase by 80% by 2020. Between 80% and 90% of road related incidents are caused by “driver’s error.”

In order to address these challenges and instill a culture of road safety in aid and development organizations, Kjaer Group has partnered with the Fleet Forum and Global Road Safety Partnership, to launch the Fleet Safety Project.

The project has developed a fleet safety toolkit consisting of a Fleet Safety Guide and templates as recommendations for structure and monitoring,  which you can download and use free of charge.

How to use the guide:

The guide is a 50-pager booklet which takes you through the 4 important steps in order to manage and implement safety in your organization.

Section 1 addresses the business case; why manage fleet safety: costs and benefits. Section 2 deals with fleet safety management systems, and addresses structures and monitoring. Section 3 deals with requirements and recommendations. It addresses specific standards and topics. Section 4 deals with planning, implementation and communication.

In each section, the guide will instruct you about specific recommendations – for example the toolkit recommends specific recruitment processes. In these cases the report will guide  you to accompanying resources which exemplifies what have been addressed in the section. You can download the inspirational material and examples below:
